As suspected, Verizon announced they would finally be adding the iPhone to their lineup. However, I don’t think anyone expected it to be so soon. February 10th looms just around the corner, and many unhappy AT&T customers found themselves stuck with a 2 year contract that they can’t afford to get out of. AT&T was also well prepared for the coup that was on the horizon and smartly raised their Early Termination Fee (ETF) from $175 to $325 in June of 2010 when they started selling the iPhone 4. Many iPhone owners awoke Saturday, January 1st to a great New Year’s Day! Scratch that…iPhone owners did not wake up Saturday morning thanks to a glitch with the alarm on the iPhone. In fact, my cousin is military and didn’t exactly make it to his post on time causing him to ask me if he could just sell his iPhone to me and be done with it. CES 2011 is rapidly approaching. With folks still trying to digest their holiday meals, CES will start on Thursday, Jan 6th and run through Sunday, Jan 9th. While many folks will be torn between checking out some of the new tablets such as the Palm/HP PalmPads or the Motorola tablet rumored to be running Android Honeycomb OS, the real buzz seems to be Verizon’s LTE network enabled phones that will be on display. Data protection has become a term we have all become intimately familiar with. As technology usage grows, so does the need to protect vital information that is used in conjunction with that technology.
